I’ll be the first to admit I never found the enthusiasm or time to check out director Ridley Scott’s ROBIN HOOD, but that doesn’t stop me from fawning all over Windlass Steelcraft’s officially licensed prop replica of the sword wielded by Russell Crowe in the film. In fact, this sword is so cool (especially when you watch the video below) that it almost inspires me to check out the film after all.
This replica of Robin Hood’s Hero Sword is hand forged from high carbon steel and measures 40″ x 8″ x 2″. The blade itself measures 33″ while the entire sword weighs 7.8 pounds.
Windlass are renowned for creating prop replica’s that match the movie version in every detail imaginable, and this weapon replica is no exception.
The sword comes with a decorative wooden wall mountable display plaque with the Loxley coat-of-arms is included, which you can see in the video presentation below:
I’m posting about this today for an awesome reason. Amazon have dropped the price from $245 to $155.98! The link you need is below:
If you’re not sure if that’s a good deal you can verify for yourself that even on eBay the sword is still listed for $244.95:
You may have also seen in the above video that there is an optional scabbard/belt/pouch that is also a replica of the one used in the film by Robin Hood to carry his Hero Sword.
Here’s a link to snap one up if you’re keen (and you’ll have to be because it’s priced at $244.95, just like the sword’s original RRP):
