One of the coolest magical weapons featured in film has to be the Elder Wand from the Harry Potter series of films.
Although also known as the Deathstick, the Wand of Destiny, the Eldruhn Wand, the Ellhorn Wand, and also as one of the Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand is probably most well known as Dumbledore’s Wand.
What is surprising is finding an authentic replica of Dumbledore’s Elder Wand isn’t as easy as you’d first expect, mainly because most of the replica’s that are out there don’t look quite like the wand as featured in the film, despite claiming that they are exact replicas. And, of course, some of them are just toys.
If you’re looking for a decent replica that isn’t a toy, then first of all you want to make sure it matches the look of the wand seen in the film. The image below will help with that.
The best one’s to my view are the replicas that come straight from Olivander’s in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando. There they call it ‘Professor Dumbledore Collectible Hero Wand’ but true Harry Potter fans know what it’s really called.
Check out the Universal Studios Elder Wand replica:
Universal’s version is sculpted in resin and measures 15.75 inches long. Wand box as pictured is also included.
The best price I can find on these is $41.97 via Ebay (brand new with free postage in the US). That’s around $8 cheaper than the next best price and even $150 cheaper than what I’ve seen these going for from some vendors.
If you want one at that price follow the link below:
The next best replica comes from The Noble Collection:
Made of resin, Noble Collection’s version is 15 inches long (almost 3/4 inch shorter than Universals replica) but comes complete with a replica of the wand box as featured in the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
You can actually get these for only $35 from Amazon at the link below:
Neither of these replicas are toys – they are legitimate replica’s designed to be showcased in a serious Harry Potter wand collection.
