This is an awesome and now hard to get full-scale reproduction of the Arc Generator from Neill Blomkamp’s 2009 sci-fi hit District 9.
It’s a 1:1 scale exact replica of the Arc Generator used by Wikus van der Merwe (played by Sharlto Copley).
Cast from the same molds as the actual prop used in the film, and using the same materials, this movie weapon replica has been created by the same artists and craftspeople at Weta Workshop who produced the weapon featured in the film.
This gun comes battle worn with alien gunk oozing out of its couplings and all the scratches and markings you’d expect from the tough action and rough handling of the Nigerian gun runners from the film.
It’s made mainly from glass fibre with some details made from other materials, like plastic tubing etc where necessary.
Comes with a wall mounting bracket for display.
The Arc Generator has long since sold out at Weta, so this particular Arc Generator is obviously second-hand, although images the seller has listed show the weapon still wrapped in its box (so “as new”).
