Screen Used PLANET OF THE APES (2001) Thade’s Sword

PLANET OF THE APES Thades Sword Screen Used Prop Replica

This is the original stunt sword used by Tim Roth (as the ape Thade) in Tim Burton’s 2001 film Planet of the Apes.

It was designed by Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood and custom made for use on set.

Thade’s sword is made out of hard rubber over a metal frame.

The sellers says:

It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Studio-Props. We purchased this item directly from 20th Century Fox and have placed a copy of our receipt from Fox on the C.O.A. to prove it.

The sword is available for sale (for $2,250) and more images of it can be viewed on Ebay at the link below:

Screen Used INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM Thugee Sword

Screen Used INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM Thugee Sword

You won’t be cutting any rope bridges with this had black rubber prop sword from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom but you will be adding some cool factor to your movie prop collection.

This is an actual screen-used prop from the 1984 film starring Harrison Ford that was originally auctioned off by Profiles in History (the current owner was the winner of the original auction).

Now the owner has put it up for sale on Ebay so this is your chance to own a real prop from the film.

Features:

  • The Sword is in Excellent Screen Used Condition
  • Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
  • Comes with a copy of the original invoice from the auction house Profiles In History
  • Made out of very hard Black Rubber with the blade painted Gold.
  • The blade has a stiff piece of wire or metal in it so blade will not bend.
  • The sword measures 25 inches (63.5 cm) long and about 4 inches (10.16 cm) blade width and about .5 inches (1.27 cm) thick in general.

The price is $899.99 but the seller will entertain offers, so have at it via the link below.

Original Screen Used WATERWORLD Smoker Rifle

WATERWORLD Smoker Rifle Prop Replica

In 1995 director Kevin Reynolds gave the world the sci-fi blockbuster Waterworld.

Well, it was meant to be a blockbuster but sadly for Reynolds and star Kevin Costner it only pulled in $264 million worldwide from a massive $175 million budget (which really was massive for its day). Despite earning (gross) more than its budget it was still a giant financial failure. One of the biggest in its day.

That said, some people still loved the film and so I’m sure there’ll be a die-hard Waterworld fan or movie prop collector out there who will jump at the chance to own one of the actual set used weapons.

Right now on Ebay a seller is giving you the chance to do just that by selling an original screen used Smoker Rifle, a weapon used by ‘Smokers’ who in the film are the bad-ass sea pirates.

The image above is the actual prop for sale.

I don’t know a great deal about the Smoker Rifle. I can’t find any images of it on the net. I don’t have it in me to watch the film again to try and find a scene that I can screenshot. I also can’t find a record of this weapon on the IMFDB’s Waterworld page. So for all intents and purposes I know nothing about this.

But here’s a summary of what the seller has to say:

  • The gun is made out of hard rubber with heavy wire inside.
  • Measures 33 inches in length x 6 inches from base to top x 2 inches thick.
  • Is in very good “Screen Used” condition.
  • Originally obtained from the famous Ellis FX Company. Still has it’s sticker on it from auction that Ellis FX company had.
  • Comes complete with Lettter of Authenticity from the famous Ellis FX Company.

The seller wants $499.99 for this prop but is willing to entertain offers. I say make one. While I haven’t verified authenticity myself, the seller is Reel Art and they are reputable vendors.

The Most Authentic HARRY POTTER Elder Wand Prop Replicas

One of the coolest magical weapons featured in film has to be the Elder Wand from the Harry Potter series of films.

Although also known as the Deathstick, the Wand of Destiny, the Eldruhn Wand, the Ellhorn Wand, and also as one of the Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand is probably most well known as Dumbledore’s Wand.

What is surprising is finding an authentic replica of Dumbledore’s Elder Wand isn’t as easy as you’d first expect, mainly because most of the replica’s that are out there don’t look quite like the wand as featured in the film, despite claiming that they are exact replicas. And, of course, some of them are just toys.

If you’re looking for a decent replica that isn’t a toy, then first of all you want to make sure it matches the look of the wand seen in the film. The image below will help with that.

HARRY POTTER Elder Wand Replica

The best one’s to my view are the replicas that come straight from Olivander’s in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando. There they call it ‘Professor Dumbledore Collectible Hero Wand’ but true Harry Potter fans know what it’s really called.

Check out the Universal Studios Elder Wand replica:

Professor Dumbledore Elder Wand Prop Replica

Universal’s version is sculpted in resin and measures 15.75 inches long. Wand box as pictured is also included.

The best price I can find on these is $41.97 via Ebay (brand new with free postage in the US). That’s around $8 cheaper than the next best price and even $150 cheaper than what I’ve seen these going for from some vendors.

If you want one at that price follow the link below:

The next best replica comes from The Noble Collection:

Dumbledores Elder Wand by Noble Collection

Made of resin, Noble Collection’s version is 15 inches long (almost 3/4 inch shorter than Universals replica) but comes complete with a replica of the wand box as featured in the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

You can actually get these for only $35 from Amazon at the link below:

Neither of these replicas are toys – they are legitimate replica’s designed to be showcased in a serious Harry Potter wand collection.
